Praise!

Since we heard someone say that what they observed in Mila was "either neurological or genetic." We have had very little to celebrate.  Then you think of Mila... Sweet little Mila has been poked, prodded, checked, strapped down, observed and tested... All for the same result... nothing definitive.

Yesterday we went to the Cardiologist.  This was a scary appointment because with unanimous consistency all the perceived diagnosis of Mia has come with an asterisk "Increased chances of heart defects."  So with not much to celebrate since May, a sea of unanswered appointments and observed diagnosis that warn of heart problems we take our Mila to yet another appointment, with little hope.  We walk in and poor Mila started crying.  Our hearts sank because she knew that more discomfort was coming.  She stayed strong and fought to keep her contentment. So freaking adorable. She gets hooked up to leads for one test and covered with warm gel for the ultrasound.  The testing ends.

Michelle and I keep things light as we wait for the Doctor.  After about an hour, since we first walked in, the Dr. comes and and starts with "I have great news!!!"   Michelle and I are at a loss for words (or we were trying to decipher what that meant), but we silently wait for more of this unfamiliar thing called great news.

He continues.... "Mila's heart is Perfect!!!!"

I think Michelle and I laughed.  Followed quickly by a sigh of relief and then the hopeful "Praise Jesus!"

We may not have hope with a test nor a diagnosis but we have hope in the broader sense.

Today we are reminded of this and cling to the hope that no matter the outcome we will have many more reasons to fall on our knees and Praise Jesus!  In the book "Prayer" by Tim Keller, he said, “God will either give us what we ask or give us what we would have asked if we knew everything he knows.”  If we believe in Him, then we trust he is perfect and so are His plans for Mila!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong

Psalm 34... I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. ...
